We,
Paul & Ange, have been keeping discus for 4 years and
breeding them for over a year now. In that time we have
learnt many things about these fascinating fish. We
have suffered the lows and enjoyed the highs which
keeping these fish can bring. In the following pages we
hope to guide you through the processes involved and to
also provide some tips & hints to help you get the most
from these superb fish. There are also some very nice pictures of our fish &
hatchery, just click on the album to view.
We have a purpose built building for our Discus. There's
a 650 gallon system which is extremely versatile in that
tanks can be isolated if needs be. We keep
juveniles & resting stock on this system. Our
breeding fish are kept in individual tanks, off the
system, so that we can easily control the water
parameters necessary for breeding.
From time to time we have fish for sale with fish
from 3 months to full blown adults and breeding pairs
available. We are sometimes able to acquire
very good wild fish (these are hand picked and will be
expensive) during the collecting season which is between
October and March. These fish will of course have
been fully quarantined and tank conditioned by us
before being offered for sale.
If you have any questions about keeping discus please e-mail me and I 'll try to help.
If I 'm unable to help, I know plenty of people and
addresses on the internet where you will get help. Take a
look at my links page you'll find some
excellent sites just oozing with information.
If you know you are
going to be in or around Southampton, Hampshire and you
would like to visit us, give us a ring first and if we're
available, we'll arrange a time for you to visit.
We
look forward to hearing from you - soon!
